ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENCE ELEMENT AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING THE SAME

Provided is an organic electroluminescence element having an improved light extraction efficiency.  Provided is also a display device using the organic electroluminescence element and having a high front surface luminance and little GASO-NIJIMI (pixel blur caused by light spread). The organic electroluminescence element includes: a light emission layer, a pair of electrodes sandwiching the light emission layer; and a layer-shaped light extraction element arranged at the light extraction side when viewed from the light emission layer.  The layer-shaped light extraction element is formed by a matrix and a plurality of domains distributed and arranged in the matrix.  The scattered light intensity distribution of the light incident in the domains has a predetermined relationship.
