<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized, high-rigidity and high-strength load sensor capable of measuring static or dynamic load, with high sensitivity as well as with high responsiveness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Two reflecting faces 2, 3 are disposed in an elastic body 1, and alight from a light source 4 is reflected by the reflective forces 2, 3 and is returned so as to be incident on a photosensor 5. The change amount of an included angle formed by the two reflection faces 2, 3, which is changed due to the deformation of the elastic body 1 by a load, is detected by a light-receiving position of the photosensor 5. By extending the length of an optical path 6, high-sensitivity measurements can be performed. A cross-sectional face that includes the optical path 6 is made symmetric so that effects from the deformations of the elastic body 1 due to the change in the temperature is prevented.
