The method involves measuring a distance of an object at a time (A) by a distance sensor (2) and computing a transverse misalignment between a vehicle (1) and the object. A time (B) taken to cover the distance is determined. A complete transverse misalignment is evaluated between the times. A difference between the two misalignments is determined. A value for horizontal misalignment of the sensor is determined using the difference. An independent claim is also included for a distance sensor. |
