A NOVEL L-ARABINOSE ISOMERASE AND L-RIBULOSE PRODUCTION USING THE SAID ENZYME

PURPOSE: An L-arabinose isomerase derived from Bacillus licheniformis is provided to ensure high substrate conversion rate and to specifically converts only L-arabinose stably. CONSTITUTION: An aribinose isomerase has an amino acid of sequence number 4. The isomerase is derived from Bacillus lichniformis and is specific to L-arabinose. The optimal condition for the isomerase is pH 5.0-9.0 and 40-60°C. A method for producing the isomerase comprises a step of culturing strain which is transformed with a recombinant expression vector containing an arabinose isomerase gene.
