ANTI-INFLUENZA VIRUS AGENT AND POULTY FEED ADDIVIVE COMPRISING ESSENTIALLY OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: A highly pathogenic avian influenza A/H5N1 antiviral active material is provided to ensure antiviral activity and to used as feed additive for poultry. CONSTITUTION: An antiviral active material to highly pathogenic avian influenza virus H5N1 is obtained from methanol extract of Asarum sieboldii plant root. The active material is isolated by filtering methanol extract of Asarum sieboldii root, treating with organic solvent, and isolating from active fraction. A feed or feed additive for poultry contains the antiviral active material to avian influenza virus H5N1. A novel drug or functional food material contains the antiviral active material as an active ingredient.
