PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner having excellent low temperature fixability, heat-resistant preservability and developing stability, and an image forming method which uses the toner and a developer containing the toner, an image forming apparatus, and a process cartridge. SOLUTION: The toner includes: matrix particle containing binder resin and a fluidizing agent. When the toner is pressurized at 1mN using pico indenter, the deformation amount is 1.0-2.3μm, and when the toner is molten at 120°C, the surface roughness Ra is 0.02-0.40μm.
