SOLUTION: The method of detoxifying harmful compound includes: a treatment (A) which illuminates a specific vitamin B12derivative in the presence of a titanium oxide photo catalyst, thereby reducing the same; a treatment (B) which methylates the reduced vitamin B12derivative with methyl group donor to obtain a methylated vitamin B12derivative; and a treatment (C) which illuminates the methylated vitamin B12derivative and the harmful compound containing at least one of atoms selected from a group of arsenic atoms, antimony atoms and selenium atoms in the presence of the titanium oxide photo catalyst, thereby methylating the harmful compound and reproducing the vitamin B12derivative.
