PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To concurrently obtain a light modulating image suitable for analysis and an image suitable for display at an identical field angle and select and display the image with the light modulating images. SOLUTION: A modulated light irradiation part 1 is activated by a modulation signal output from a light modulating camera 2 and irradiates a target space (or area peripheral to a vehicle) with modulated lights. The light modulating camera 2 obtains a first image containing only the reflected light components corresponding to surrounding lights other than the modulated light in a process of obtaining the light modulating image as pixel values and a second image containing the reflected light components corresponding to both of the modulated lights and the surrounding lights as pixel values concurrently at the identical field angle.
