PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice transplanter enabling the rotational directions and the rotational speeds of a laterally sending shaft and a vertically sending shaft to be set freely, capable of efficiently sending a seedling mat carried by a seedling-carrying platform, and enabling the amount scraped by a transplanting tine to be set easily. SOLUTION: The rice transplanter, carrying the seedling mat on the seedling-carrying platform 16, scraping out the seedlings by a prescribed amount by the turning of the transplanting tine 17 arranged below the seedling-carrying platform 16, and transplanting the scraped out seedlings in a field, is equipped with an electrically driving means 60 for reciprocally driving the seedling-carrying platform 16 in the right and left directions so as to synchronize with the turning of the transplanting tine 17, a means 140 for detecting the position of the seedling-carrying platform 16 in the right and left direction, a horizontal shift-setting means 144, and a controlling means 69.
