<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe joint used for connecting protection pipes of optical cables buried in the ground or cable protection sheath pipes used in a bridge, capable of exhibiting sufficient water stop performance, capable of restraining swelling of a water absorptive expansive material into an inside of the pipe or squashing of an end of the pipe even when being used for a long time, and capable of being easily manufactured. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the pipe joint 1, a seal material is integrated on an inner peripheral surface of an almost cylindrical pipe joint body member 11 to be opposed to an outer peripheral surface of the pipe to be connected. The seal material includes a first seal material 12 arranged spirally with prescribed intervals, and a second seal material 13 arranged across adjacent parts of the first seal material, and at least one of the first seal material 12 and the second seal material 13 is made of the water absorptive expansive material.
