<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of adjusting the reversed position of a traverse such as a bobbin and a wire guide by detecting a bobbin end surface immediately before winding up without using a conventional shielding type optical sensor and a reflecting type optical sensor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The wire winder includes the bobbin wind-up wire, a wire guide guiding the wire to a predetermined position of the bobbin, a bobbin traverse drive device rotation-driving the bobbin to reciprocate the bobbin in a rotation axis direction of the bobbin, and a control means controlling the bobbin traverse drive device. The wire winder is equipped with a projector projecting incident light toward an inside end surface of a flange of the bobbin, and a photoreceptor receiving the incident light projected from the projector and reflected on the inside end surface of the bobbin. According to a signal including the distance information of the inside end surface of the bobbin output from the photoreceptor when the incident light is detected, a drive direction of the bobbin during reciprocating drive is reversed.
