PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comfortably perform television broadcast viewing on a portable telephone apparatus which is equipped with a television broadcast viewing function. SOLUTION: A flash memory of a memory 9, connected to a baseband chip 3, stores therein image/sound-related information at telephone mode (contrast information, screen luminance information, sound volume information during the telephone mode), and image/sound-related information during a TV viewing mode (contrast information, screen luminance information, sound volume information during TV-viewing mode). During the telephone mode, a display device 6 and a speaker device 7 are driven, on the basis of the image/sound related information during the telephone mode and during the TV-viewing mode, the display device 6 and the speaker device 7 are driven, on the basis of the image/sound-related information during the TV-viewing mode.
