PURPOSE: A heterogeneous BS mixed wireless access network of a different kind base station for removing inter-cell interference and a hand over method thereof are provided to prevent deterioration of a wireless network quality by removing the inter-cell interference in a cell duplicated area of multi-cell based a wireless access network. CONSTITUTION: Based on BS information of adjacent BSs(Base Stations), an MS(Mobile Station) renews a Active Set(402). The MS checks a type of a serving BS through a downlink signal of the serving BS(404). In case the serving BS is a general BS, the MS decides hand over condition according to movement into a hand off area(406). If the hand over condition is satisfied, the MS proceeds the hand over from the serving BS to the target BS(410).
