PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor for use in an automobile and the like which enhances reliability concerning a joint. SOLUTION: The capacitor is composed of: an element 1 extracting positive and negative electrodes from both ends; a metal case 4 which contains this element 1 together with an electrolyte, and has the inner base joined to one electrode of the element 1; a terminal plate 5 which has an inner face joined to the other electrode of the element 1, and is arranged in an opening of the metal case 4; and sealing rubber 6 for sealing the opening of the metal case 4, and roughening layers are formed on the inner base of the metal case 4 joined to both the ends of the element 1, and the inner face of the terminal plate 5, respectively. With this structure, even if air interposes on an abutment face of two members to be welded, the air can freely move in a face direction through unevenness of the roughening layer to escape to the outside upon welding, so that no voids are generated in a joint part which laser welding has been carried out, thereby enhancing the reliability concerning the joint greatly.
