<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove a deposit generated in an EGR passage, in an internal combustion engine having the EGR passage capable of recirculating EGR gas being a part of exhaust gas to an intake flow passage. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This control device 30 of the internal combustion engine 100 has a specifying means 31 for specifying an opening-closing state of an intake valve and an exhaust valve in a cylinder provided in the internal combustion engine, and a control means 32 for controlling a supercharger 23 and an adjusting means 45 so that suction air flows to an exhaust flow passage 41 from an intake flow passage 21 via the EGR passage 43 when the internal combustion engine is stopped and the intake valve and the exhaust valve are put in a predetermined non-overlapping state based on the specified opening-closing state.
