<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the high output, low cogging torque characteristics in a hollow brushless DC motor having a substantially small radial dimension of the motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In an outer rotor hollow motor having the ratio d1/D1 of the outside diameter D1 of the motor and the hollow inside diameter d1 satisfying a relation 0.8>d1/D1>0.7, the width t1 of a core back and the radius r1 of the inside diameter of the core back satisfy a relation 26>r1/t1>15, and the thickness t2 of a magnet and the radius r2 of the inside diameter of the magnet satisfy a relation 18>r2/t2>11, wherein the magnet is a neodymium based multipolar-magnet having a high flux density and magnetized so that the flux is distributed sinusoidally on the circumferential surface of the inner circumference, the slit width is 1.5 mm or less and the radius of the outer circumferential surface of each salient pole is substantially uniform.
