PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting element having extremely high efficiency, high luminance, high color purity and optical output. SOLUTION: The organic light-emitting element comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode and an organic compound layer supported between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. Any of the positive electrode and the negative electrode is a transparent electrode or translucent electrode. At least one layer of the organic compound layers contains at least one kind of an indenopyrene compound which is a dimer comprising R10 represented by formula [1], or which is represented by formula [1] (wherein R<SP>1</SP>-R<SP>14</SP>are each substituent selected from a hydrogen atom, substituted or nonsubstituted alkyl, substituted or nonsubstituted alkenyl, substituted or nonsubstituted alkynyl, substituted or nonsubstituted aromatic, substituted or nonsubstituted heterocyclic, substituted or nonsubstituted condensed polycyclic aromatic, substituted or nonsubstituted condensed polycyclic heterocyclic, a halogen atom and substituted or nonsubstituted amino and may be the same or different).
