PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial fingernail which has not only fitting property in wearing the fingernail but also a natural appearance suited to an individual fingernail unlike a conventional artificial fingernail having a uniform and unnatural shape, and to provide a method for manufacturing such an artificial fingernail by simple operation in a short period of time without putting a user under of a physical and economical burden. SOLUTION: The artificial fingernail has a multilayer structure including an outer layer having a shape of a fingernail and an inner layer located under the outer layer and attached directly or indirectly to the outer layer. In collaboration between the outer layer and the inner layer, a cross-section perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the artificial fingernail is formed into a desired curved shape as a whole. A thin piece for forming the outer layer having the shape of the artificial fingernail and a thin piece for forming the inner layer having a shape of overlapping with the lower surface of the thin piece for forming the outer layer from below are provided. The thin piece for forming the inner layer is attached directly or indirectly to the lower-side surface of the thin piece for forming the outer layer while the thin piece for forming the inner layer is deviated in the transverse direction of the longitudinal axis of the artificial fingernail.
