PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing modified natural rubber with reduced viscosity, improved moldability and reduced hysteresis loss of the natural rubber. SOLUTION: This production method includes adding to a natural rubber latex at least one selected from a group consisting of urea, a urea derivative of formula (1): R<SP>1</SP>NHCONHR<SP>2</SP>, wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>each independently represents hydrogen or 1C-15C saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon, and a urea double salt to liberate a protein from a rubber particle in the rubber latex, and drying the rubber latex along with the liberated protein.
