<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently control the cache of font in an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a drawing control part 161, which receives inputs of characters and printing objects and of a font family of the characters as printing objects; a graphic library 164, which produces pass-handle corresponding to the combinations of the input characters and font family and produces raster data corresponding to the combination of the input characters and font family based on the produced pass-handles; a RAM 13 for temporarily stores the pass-handles; and a cache control part 162, which calculates the degree of priority of the pass-handle on the pass-handles based on the number of the curvilineal instructions in the pass-handle and determines whether caches the produced pass-handle or not based on the calculated pass-handle so as to store the produced pass-handle in a RAM 13 when the determined result is affirmative. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
