The method involves determining viewing directions of respective eyes of a wearer of spectacles. A target function for a surface of spectacle lenses is minimized. A correction torsion angle is enclosed by a torsion reference axis, which is perpendicular to a reference viewing direction of the eyes and to one of the viewing directions. The correction torsion angle is deviated around a torsion correction angle by the reference torsion angle between a cylinder reference axis and the torsion reference axis, where the torsion correction angle depends on other viewing direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product comprising instructions for manufacturing a method for optimizing and manufacturing spectacle lenses (2) a storage medium comprising instructions for manufacturing a method for optimizing and manufacturing spectacle lenses (3) a device for manufacturing spectacle lenses.
