A slider 21 for a sliding clasp fastener comprises a pair of plate-like portions 22, 23 integrally connected in spaced-apart parallel relationship by a spreader post 24 located midway between the opposite side edges and intermediate the ends of the portions on either side of the spreader post and with flanges 27, 28 on one portion directed toward those on the other portion, both end portions of each flange being parallel to each other and to the end portions of each of the other flanges. As shown, in which the slider is applied to a closure comprising interlocking elements 12, 13 and overlapping sealing lips 16, 17, flanges 32, 33 on the second portion adjacent an end 25 of the slider extend slightly beyond the corresponding ends of the flanges 27, 28. The inner surfaces of the flanges 32, 33 are spaced closer to the post 24 than the corresponding surfaces of the flanges 27, 28. |
