<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging lens which can prevent the imaging performance of ambient light rays from being deteriorated without more enlarging the diameter of a liquid crystal lens used in the imaging lens. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging lens includes: a front group lens arranged at the side of a patient; a back group lens arranged at the side of an imaging element; and a liquid crystal lens arranged between the front group lens and the back group lens, having liquid crystal layers between mutually confronted two electrodes, and functioning as the liquid crystal lens by applying voltage to the confronted electrodes, thus performing the orientation control of the liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layers so as to change a refractive index distribution. In such a manner that the upper light and the lower light of light flux emitted from the front group lens are made parallel to the main light, the light is made incident on the liquid crystal lens, and the emission light from the liquid crystal lens is imaged on the imaging element by the post group lens.
