PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light dimming device capable of setting up a dimming mode with a few operations of a switch unconsciously and still dispensing with a complicated mechanical structure for setting up the dimming mode. SOLUTION: The lighting device 10 is provided with a lighting control circuit 16 for controlling lighting ON/OFF and illuminance of a discharging lamp 11 and a security bulb 12 based on an operation of a power source switch SW. The lighting control circuit 16 makes a first light dimming mode in which illuminance of the discharging lamp 11 is continuously changed when the power source switch SW is turned On at an turned OFF mode of the discharging lamp 11 and the security bulb 12, and maintains lighting the discharging lamp 11 at a pre-set illuminance when, at the first light dimming mode, a pre-set time passes after the power source switch SW is turned ON, and maintains lighting the discharging lamp 11 at the illuminance of the discharging lamp 11 at the illuminance when it is turned OFF, when the power source switch SW is operated ON/OFF within the pre-set time before the pre-set time passes.
