Disclosed is a method for producing dendritic cells (DCs), which involves a step of culturing DC progenitor cells in the presence of multiple cytokines. Also disclosed is a DC produced by the method. Further disclosed is use of the DC. It is found that dendritic cells (DCs) having a high IL-12-producing ability can be produced by culturing DC progenitor cells in the presence of multiple cytokines and further culturing the resulting culture product in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-4 for about 1 week. It becomes possible to produce DCs having a high IL-12-producing ability in a large quantity from a small number of DC progenitor cells. As a result, the number of DCs to be administered in an anti-tumor immunotherapy or the treatment of infectious diseases using DCs can be increased readily, and the efficacy of a DC vaccine is expected to be increased.
