The present invention relates to a method and system for restoring a terminal which has been switched by means of a terminal switching service. To this end, the present invention provides a terminal-restoring method in which a first mobile terminal is released from a terminal-switched state when it has been confirmed that the strength of the power of a common pilot channel received from a second mobile terminal has continued in a state below a predetermined critical value for more than a predetermined critical time. Further, the present invention provides a terminal-restoring method in which a first mobile terminal is released from a terminal-switched state when it has been confirmed that the number of intervals, during which the power of a common pilot channel received from a second mobile terminal is below the critical value, is more than a predetermined critical number within a predetermined unit time. Further, the present invention provides a terminal-restoring method in which a first mobile terminal is restored by being released from a terminal-switched state when the first mobile terminal is located in a serviced zone and the second mobile terminal is located in a shadow zone. An advantageous effect which can be expected of the present invention is that it can prevent failure in the supply of important mobile communications services to mobile communications service subscribers, without the subscriber having to execute any procedure to restore a switched mobile terminal.
