The device has a display element fixed at a front side of a square-shaped front panel (1) i.e. printed circuit board, where the display element is made of translucent material. The display element is designed as a thin plate with a flat rear side and a flat front side. A through hole is formed between the rear side of the display element and a rear side (8) of the front panel. A light source i.e. LED (9), is arranged at the rear side of the front panel and radiates light into the through hole. A protective film covers the front panel.
