<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in a prepress application capable of setting a print format for each chapter that, while a finish can be changed by the designation of "change a finish sheet" or "change a finish page" at a chapter break point, a wraparound etc. occurs at this setting, in a two page spread format with a start page designated, an intended format may not be obtained by only the designation at a chapter break point, and in such a case, while a blank page can be inserted to adjust imposition, a change of the number of impositions may require readjustment, thus resulting in poor efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: Whether the first page of a chapter always starts from the right or the left is determined, a blank page is automatically inserted so as not to adversely affect imposition, and a book file is generated.
