<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric compressor capable of effectively cooling both an electric motor and a motor control circuit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this electric compressor 1, a housing 10 is formed with a suction port 46 for communicating an external part with a motor chamber 42, and a guide chamber 79 for communicating the motor chamber 42 with a suction camber 41 while being partitioned by outer surfaces 44a and 44b of a stator 44. An electric equipment chamber 90 is positioned in the radial outer direction more than the motor chamber 42 to the axis 45a of a rotor 45. A heat sink 71 for cooling the motor control circuit 91 placed on one's own cooling surface 71a, is arranged between the electric equipment chamber 90 and the guide chamber 79. A central point C1 of an opening 46a on the motor chamber 42 side of the suction port 46 is positioned on the head sink 71 side to a virtual plane P parallel to the cooling surface 71a by including the axis 45a of the rotor 45, and the axis L1 of the suction port 46 is inclined so that the opening 46a approaches the heat sink 71 to the virtual plane P.
