<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement gage for contact width of a rolling element, capable of constituting a punch (an ironing punch) to be used when forming a track groove with excellent accuracy, a punch to be formed by using the gage, and a punch forming method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A gage groove of the measurement gage 11 for contact width of a rolling element is fitted to a projecting part 16 of a punch. The projecting part 16 measures the contact width which is the dimension between the positions at which the projecting part 16 is brought into contact with a surface in the gage groove.
