PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leaf valve capable of individually and independently setting the elongation side damping property of a shock absorber when a piston speed is in a low-speed range and the contraction side damping property thereof, without impairing its profitability. SOLUTION: The leaf valves 1, 2 are layered on a valve disc 3 having ports 4, 5, and annularly shaped with their inner peripheries fixed and supported and their outer peripheries allowed to be deflected to open/close the ports 4, 5. The leaf valves 1, 2 includes throttles 10a, 12a communicated with the ports 4, 5, and check valves 11a, 14a for allowing only a flow from the throttles 10a, 12a toward the ports 4, 5, respectively.
