A system and related method including an inventory data retrieval component for receiving first data corresponding to historical inventory transactions within a medical practice for a selected period, a billing data retrieval component for receiving second data corresponding to historical billing transactions within the medical practice for the selected period, a database component for storing said first and second data in a database, a data conditioning and analysis component interfaced with said inventory and billing data retrieval components, and a reporting component for producing an output report that identifies each verifiable billing error. The data conditioning and analysis component analyzes selected records from the first and second data to generate an exceptions list of possible billing errors within the medical practice during the selected period, wherein each possible billing error corresponds to one or more associated billing events.
