PURPOSE: An automatic component arranging device is provided to substantially reduce errors resulting from the number, location, and directionality of a component by omitting the manual operation of humans in the arrangement of components. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of components(10) are arranged in consistent rows on the upper side of a component placement unit(14). A component photographing unit(11) takes a photo of the component. An arithmetic processing unit(12) computes the arrangement position of the component according to the area of the upper side of the component placement unit and the size of the component. The arithmetic processing unit determines the directionality of the component from an image of the component photographed through the component photographing unit. A component transferring unit(13) transfers the component to the arrangement position computed by the arithmetic processing unit according to the determined directionality.
