<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent such a phenomenon in which the sequence of paper is different from a planned sequence while shortening the delivery intervals of paper in delivering a plurality of recording materials. <P>SOLUTION: When paper supply from a paper storage device 201 is performed and then switched to paper supply from a paper storage device 401 to perform image formation on the paper, if the residual quantity of paper in the paper storage device 201 is a predetermined number of sheets or more, delivery of the N+first sheet of paper from the paper storage device 401 is made earlier than the delivery time of the Nth sheet of paper from the paper storage device 201 to correct a lag of image formation timing caused by the difference of paper conveying lines. If the residual quantity of paper in the paper storage device 201 is less than the predetermined number of sheets, the delivery of the N+first sheet of paper from the paper storage device 401 is made later than the delivery time of the Nth sheet of paper from the paper storage device 201.
