<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide such a technology that can inform users of the possibility or impossibility of connection before physically and actually connecting a mobile terminal with a peripheral device in the mobile terminal that can be physically connected with the peripheral device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When the control section 11 of the mobile terminal 1 receives a peripheral device connection request from a requesting section 10, the control section 11 acquires device information corresponding to the operation state of own device from a peripheral device list 15, based on information included in the received peripheral device connection request. The communication module 16 of the mobile terminal 1 communicates with a peripheral device 2 in a short range radio mode to receive the device information for specifying the peripheral device 2. The control section 11 compares the device information received by the communication module 16 with the device information acquired from the list, and the possibility or impossibility of connection with the peripheral device 2 is determined based on the comparison result. The connection control section 13 executes processing for accepting the connection with the peripheral device 2 when the determination result of the control section 11 is affirmative, while it executes processing for informing users of the result when the determination result thereof is negative.
