PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a frame in "an image including a frame" photographed by a camera or the like. SOLUTION: A photography image is made a gray scale image and then a binary image. Black points on three straight lines passing near a center are detected, it is examined whether or not there is a black point on a central line on a middle point with respect all the combinations of black points on the lines on both ends, and when there is, it is examined whether or not there is a black straight line between the black points on the lines on both ends to collect such straight lines. Frame establishment processing is performed with respect to pairs of collected straight lines, and when they are established, it is examined whether or not they are near the center of an image.
