PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for automatically determining a file name which is desired by a user, etc. SOLUTION: A data name determination device extracts and recognizes character strings included in an input image, and classifies the character string of each recognition result into a plurality of categories according to its content, etc. When a category which the user desires as a data name is specified, set, etc. by the user, the data name determination device determines the character string belonging to the category according to specification and setting by the user as a name of predetermined data.
