<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely inform operators around a machine body of an alarm state. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This monitoring device for a working machine includes: obstacle detecting means 10a-10c for detecting obstacles around the machine body; a narrow-directional alarm means 19 (21b) for emitting an alarm sound at a predetermined directional angle; a narrow-directional alarm means 19 (21a) for irradiating illumination light at a predetermined directional angle; and alarm control means 22a, 22b, 60 for controlling the alarm means 19 to emit the alarm sound toward the obstacles and to irradiate the alarm illumination light toward the obstacles when the obstacles are detected by the obstacle detecting means 10a-10c.
