An illuminated small-size electronic apparatus which is small size and low cost, which consumes reduced electric power, and in which an illuminating section has good illumination quality. An illuminated small-size electronic apparatus comprises: a housing (1) having an opening area; a cover member (2) overlaid on the opening area of the housing (1); a front face plate (3) consisting of a glass plate or a transparent plastic plate and covering the opening area of the housing (1); a circuit board (4) contained in the housing (1) so as to be located at the bottom therein; a planar electronic component (5) including a liquid crystal display panel and a switch board and having one side provided so as to face the front face plate (3); an illuminating device (6) provided to the rear surface side of the planar electronic component (5); a connecting light guide body (8) for guiding light, which is emitted from the illuminating device (6), to a gap (illuminating section) (7) formed between the inner periphery of the cover member (2) and the outer periphery of the planar electronic component (5); and a joining body (9) for joining together a light exit section of the illuminating device (6) and a light entrance section of the connecting light guide body (8).
