URANIUM DIOXIDE NUCLEAR FUEL CONTAINING MN AND AL COMPOUNDS AS ADDITIVES AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A UO2 nuclear fuel sinter and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the stability of the entire nuclear reactor by reducing the damage of a fuel rod. CONSTITUTION: A UO2 nuclear fuel sinter is manufactured by adding power consisting of Mn-compound and the Al-compound into the UO2 system power. The weight component ratio of the Mn/Al of the additive powder consisting of the Al-compound and the Mn-compound ranges from 1 to 100. The amount of addition added to the UO2 system powder has (Mn+Al)/U mass rate of this 50-3000ug/g based on the UO2 system powder. The Mn-Al compound and Al-compound is one selected from a group consisting of the oxide, the nitride, the stearate, the chloride, and the hydroxide.
