<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter which can supply required power to a load stably without bringing the load into biased magnetization at the instantaneous lowering of a voltage of a power system by cutting off a high-speed switch for connection to a commercial power supply. <P>SOLUTION: When the instantaneous lowering of the voltage the system occurs, a conversion control circuit 102 performs off-assist control to make a high-speed switch 3 connecting a power system 1 and a load 2 perform a cut-off operation and then controls an AC-DC converter 5 and a DC chopper 7 of a sodium-sulfur battery system 9 to supply required power to the load 2. A self-sustained operation control circuit 18 of the conversion control circuit is equipped with a biased magnetization suppression control circuit 110 which generates an output voltage command signal for suppressing the DC-biased magnetization of the load 2 based on a load voltage detection signal, an off-assist period flag signal based on the output of the off-assist control circuit 21, and a system voltage vector phase signal from a phase synchronous control circuit based on a power system voltage detection signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
