PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of highlighting a subject edge adequately. SOLUTION: An imaging device 1A includes: a sub-image pickup device 7 acquiring a pickup image of a subject image; an evaluated value acquiring portion 124 acquiring an evaluated value of a high-frequency component included in the pickup image per pixel; a threshold determining portion 125 determining an edge threshold which becomes a reference for specifying an edge pixel corresponding to an edge part of a subject among pixels composing the pickup image based on the evaluated value; an edge pixel specifying portion 126 specifying the edge pixel using the edge threshold; and a display control portion 127 displaying a preview image before picking up the image on a monitor 12 based on the pickup image sequentially acquired by the sub-image pickup device 7.
