<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of reducing power consumption, without lowering sensitivity and a response speed, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor is equipped with a gas responsive part which is arranged so as to electrically connect a positive electrode with a negative electrode provided on an insulating base material and detects a detection target gas, on the basis of a change in the electrical resistance, and each of the electrodes is formed of a conductive paste, containing first conductive particles with an average particle size of 1-10 μm and second conductive particles with an average particle size of 5-50 nm.
