PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel ball screw device capable of exercising superior durability and reliability even in application subjected to a high load such as a press. SOLUTION: A radial gap S between a ball B and a thread groove 30 is 1/300-1/1,200 of a ball diameter, an initial contact angleαbetween the ball B and the thread groove 30 when there is no radial gap S is 35-43°, the thread groove 30 is shaped in a gothic arc shape formed by two arcs, and a curvature C of each arc is 51.5-54.0% with respect to the ball diameter. By this, service life commonly demanded as a press is sufficiently satisfied, there is no riding up of the ball even at maximum load, and superior durability and reliability can be exercised.
