PURPOSE: A needle folding machine is provided to automatically fold a needle for operation by using a needle transfer device, a needle chucking device, and a bending device. CONSTITUTION: An aligning supply device(40) supplies an aligned sewing needle for operation. A reversed position detecting sensor(50) detects the overturned sewing needle for operation. An inverter(60) inverses a sewing needle for operation detected from the inverse position detecting sensor. A spindle(90) is supported with a bearing housing above a base plate(70). A needle transfer device(100) transfers one sewing needle for operation to the spindle. A needle chucking device(200) catches the ear portion of the sewing needle for operation located in the outer circumference of the spindle. A pressure device(300) pressurizes the center of the body portion of the sewing needle for operation to the outer circumference of the spindle. A bending device folds the sewing needle for operation by simultaneously rotating the spindle and the needle chucking device.
