PURPOSE: An array substrate and a liquid crystal display device having the same are provided to reduce length of drains electrode, thereby improving aperture ratio. CONSTITUTION: A pixel electrode has a connecting parts(173,174) and slit parts(175,176). The connecting part is expanded from the connecting part to domains. A switching device has gate electrodes(112,116) connected to a gate line, a source electrodes(121,122) connected to a data line, and drain electrodes(123,126). The drain electrode is expanded to a pixel area parallel with expansion direction of the slit part and is electrically connected to the pixel electrode.
