PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stroboscopic system that causes no operation problem due to difference in attitude of a light emitting section when a lighting system mounting the light emitting section at an arbitrary attitude is mounted in the imaging device. SOLUTION: The stroboscopic system includes: the imaging device (1) on which an imaging lens (50) is mounted or included, and the lighting system (61) mounting the light emitting section (64) having a light source for illuminating a subject at an arbitrary attitude to the imaging device (1). The stroboscopic system includes a light emitting section attitude determining means that select a part of the light source of the light emitting section (64) to emit light, acquires subject luminance distribution information at light emission using a camera, and determines the attitude of the light emitting section based on the subject luminance distribution information.
