The present invention relates to a ship or floating support (1) for transporting or storing the liquid consisting of a liquefied gas, preferably chosen from methane, ethylene, propane and butane, cooled in a large tank, preferably a cylindrical one with polygonal cross section, which is thermally insulated and very large with at least its shortest dimension in the horizontal direction, notably its width, greater than 20 m and preferably ranging from 25 to 50 m, and a volume in excess of 10 000 m3, characterized in that said tank is equipped with at least one device for attenuating the movements of said liquid comprising means of displacing said liquefied gas liquid within said tank to form a horizontal current just below the free surface of said liquefied gas at least locally to a depth of at least 0.5 m, preferably at least 2 m.
