PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoreceptor in which a change in sensitivity is reduced in all environments from high temperature-high humidity to low temperature-low humidity, and which can achieve satisfactory image properties, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided therewith. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor is obtained by providing a subbing layer between an electroconductive support and a photosensitive layer. The subbing layer at least includes zinc oxide particles in which each surface is coated with silica and methyl hydrogen polysiloxane and a binder resin, and the binder resin is a polyamide resin with a structural unit expressed by general formula (I): (wherein, m is an integer of 10 to 65; n is an integer of 10 to 40; p is an integer of 15 to 35; and q is an integer of 5 to 35; and m+n+p+q=100).
