Liquid cleaning agent for dental prostheses and equivalent devices is characterized in that it is an aqueous solution the pH of which is less than 2 and which includes ortho-phosphorus acid and acetic acid in the ratio of from 10:1 to 5:1 and suitable bases to produce a buffer effect against the adverse effects of the acids on the materials of the devices.
